Day 19 - Warming up

  • Nov. 18th, 2008 at 5:07 PM
schizophrenia!
Okay...I will be rewarding myself. Maybe.

If I can get my Sociology test done by 7pm, I'll tackle the NaNo and bite the bunny back.

Hopefully.

No promises.

But it'll be worth the rushing of Theh Test to see if the bribe works. :)

Day 18

  • Nov. 17th, 2008 at 6:35 PM
on vacation

Hmm... *pokes novel*

Progress Report - 10k!

  • Nov. 12th, 2008 at 11:14 AM
no talk - write

Okay...I've gotta write 10,000 words in two days. O.o

Yeah. Sure thing, Chris.

Anyways, I meant to update, but got caught up in the actual NaNoing. Plus, with dial-up, who wants to wait around till 12 o'clock at night so you can update, eh? Decided to wait till the morning.

Long story short; I didn't to 15k. Not surprising. But!I did make it to 10,000! *jumps up and down* And the characters are doing too terribly bad at the moment; I've already set up one scene, had a catastrophe, and am in the process of setting up another catastrophe. Hopefully. :{ (And yeah, I know that's WAY late to be hitting 10k...but I didn't write for almost a week, all told. Cut me some slack... :) )

Now...the big problem is school. :P I've got not one, but TWO tests to study for this weekend, and I work both Friday and Saturday. :P  Plus we're supposed to be at a friend's house on Saturday evening, so that kills that study/NaNoing time. *cries* Eh hehhhh.... *sniff*

I dunno if I can keep up with this...and that's discouraging me. *whine sniff*

day eight

  • Nov. 10th, 2008 at 12:29 PM
on vacation
my inspiration is ded.

no writing for over 4 days.

muse suffering.

regardless - muse will be challenged.

I've discovered, from last week's tallies, that it is actually possible for me to churn out about 2,000 words an hour, if I don't stop.

This means that I could - technically - write 10,000 words in 5 hours.

Wow.

I have an appointment with my desk at 6pm tonight. Will update then.
...wish me luck.

Day Four - A Summary

  • Nov. 5th, 2008 at 11:48 PM
internal editor

Total Time: 50 minutes (or so)
Word Count: 5736

Yay, I made progress! :D

After a rough start with losing most of my draft this morning, I was still feeling sick, or at least, getting sick. So I sloughed off from both school and work, managed to do a bit of homework, and then took a nice nap on the uber-comfy sofa. Watched presidential election stuff, followed by a great heaping bowl(s) of cream cheese and noodles (oh man, did that hit the spot!), and then enjoyed one of my current favs on TV, Criminal Minds. That got me "in the mood," and so that was when my muse decided to show up and be useful. Yep. At 10:30 at night. (Thanks a lot, muse... *kick*)

Anyways, progress has been made. I really, really wanted to get to 2,000 words tonight, but my scene ended at such a great stopping point that I didn't want to touch it. Still, almost 1900 words in 50 minutes. Not bad, with the way things have been going. :)

And Kietel, the MC, is turning out to be not-so-bad either, although, I'm unfortunately getting the feeling that he may turn out to be - or at least look like - the wimp in the upcoming scenes. His wife, an elf, is going to come on top as the "cool" character, which in turn will make him look like a coward or something. :P Oh well. I'll fix it in the edits come December...hopefully. If I can determine why he looks wimpy and whether or not the elf lady is too cool, or whatever.

Anyways, all's well in my NaNo world for now now. God willing, it'll stay that way. :) G'nite!

Just weep

  • Nov. 5th, 2008 at 9:35 AM

Okay...never mind on the "happy day, peoples."

You know that National Backup Your NaNo Day?

I was a day late. And I paid for it.

*is fuming*

Day Four - The plan

  • Nov. 5th, 2008 at 9:21 AM
job - what job?
Am coming down with something. :P Because of that, I'm debating on whether I'm actually going to make it to class and work today.

That being said, I really want to tear into the plot today. I'm about 2800 words behind (which, actually, is a relief; I thought I was almost 4,000 behind...). I'd like to catch up and then some, preferably hitting 6-7000 today. I'll stil be a bit behind, but making larger chunks of progress than before.

Now... *blinks* Where to begin? ^-^

Happy 5th day of NaNoing, peoples!

Day 3 - A Summary (a day late)

  • Nov. 5th, 2008 at 9:18 AM
start crying

Was at work almost all day, and getting sick. Thus, the NaNo suffered.

Eeked out a measly 283 words 15 minutes before bed, then slept soundly. (I have heard even "tampering" with your novel - tweaking, adding a few words here and there - everything little bit helps, so I figured that that was what I had enough energy for.)

Time: 15 minutes
Word Count: 3807

Day 2 - A Summary

  • Nov. 3rd, 2008 at 11:46 PM
job - what job?
Total Time: 2 hours and some change
Word Count: 3557

Well, despite geting so completely  zoned out in my NaNo that I literally scared the living daylights out of my family because I forgot to pick them up for an outing, and thus consequently, was MIA for a period of an hour!somehow I managed to get a good 2000!words or so outta me, according to my handy NaNo Excel sheet. Things are really starting to heat up now; Kietel (the MC) actually has a personality - of sorts - and there is a bit of a plot hatching, however slowly. And I like the relationship that's developing between he and his elf-wife, Geyva.

Unfortunately, most of the progress from today is now locked on the harddrive of the computer I was using at college. Which is now closed. And will remain so until Wednesday. :P

Oh well. Thankfully I remembered where I left off, and the file should still be there come Wednesday...if no evil computer-ghost minions have made off with it by then.

Anyways, there's the word count and plot hatching and all that to be happy about.

P.S.
Oh. And the fact that it's good to know you have family and friends who DO care about you and notice if you're missing...even if you do hafta [accidentally] scare them in order to figure that out. :) G'nite!
